Josh Allen went into the bye with a share of Jim Kelly's franchise record, and fittingly, it was Keon Coleman who caught No. 258. Buffalo is 5-1, Coleman has scored in three straight games, and the Bills' passing game is getting by while DJ Moore works back from a shoulder sprain.
Our NFL draft analyst Luke Easterling still sees room to add. In his updated 2027 first-round mock draft , the Bills take Indiana wide receiver Nick Marsh at No. 29, a 6-foot-3 target Easterling calls a big, athletic pass-catcher with strong hands who's valuable after the catch and in the red zone.
Nick Marsh would add size to the Bills' receiver room
Coleman's growth is a big part of why this pick isn't a panic move. He has 19 catches for 283 yards and three touchdowns, and Easterling wrote that his development "has been encouraging." Allen has noticed, too.
"He's putting himself in good spots, and he's making the most of his opportunities," Allen said after the win in Las Vegas . "He finds himself in the right place at the right time and finds a way to get open."
Still, receiver sits third on Buffalo's list of 2027 draft needs , and Allen's top three wideouts have combined for 53 catches through six games. Marsh, a Detroit native who transferred from Michigan State, has 32 catches for 585 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games for the Hoosiers. He was named AP National Player of the Week after a 187-yard, two-touchdown day against Nebraska that included a 75-yard catch-and-run and a 44-yard score on fourth-and-1 to rally Indiana from a 17-6 hole. Against Ohio State, he nearly won it with a late double move in the end zone, but his left foot came down out of bounds.
Easterling ranks Marsh as the fourth-best receiver in the 2027 class and 21st overall on his big board, and he called Marsh "a fantastic value" at No. 29. He also noted the 2027 receiver class is fairly deep.
Joe Brady's offense is already tied for the league lead in offensive touchdowns, but a receiver who can win at the catch point when the field shrinks would still help, and Marsh's size would give Allen exactly that. With Buffalo slotted at No. 29 in the draft order , a top-25 talent at a need position would be a strong outcome.
