Recently, the Buffalo Bills participated in the 2026 NFL Draft, with one of the main areas of need on the roster being in the wide receiver room. The Bills at least partially addressed this issue by selecting wide receiver Skyler Bell in the fourth round out of UConn.
One person who is not lacking in confidence in this pick is Bell himself, who recently broke down what he thinks he will bring to the Bills’ offense.
“I’m dynamic; I’m explosive, versatile. I [can] do a lot of different things inside, outside, deep ball, contested catches, intermediate catches,” Bell said, per David Benjamin De Cristofaro of Bills Wire.
He also spoke about his experience with Jim Leonhard , the Bills’ defensive coordinator, who worked with Bell when they were both members of the Wisconsin football program.
“I was doing a lot of scout team stuff, and he was our DC, so I was running the routes against his defense,” Bell said. “Sometimes I [went] up to his office and we watched the tape. He [was] trying to get me better. He’s telling me things to work on that I could be better [at, and for] his defense to get them better. It’s just a revolving door, a little bit of everybody making each other better.”
The Bills already partially addressed their wide receiver problem this offseason by trading for Chicago Bears wideout DJ Moore, but it was clear that more work was needed heading into the draft.
Josh Allen will certainly be hoping that Bell’s assessment of himself is accurate and that the Bills will indeed be getting an explosive downfield weapon for next season and beyond.
