"The #Giants add another veteran WR: The team is signing JuJu Smith-Schuster after today's workout, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Added today: Odell Beckham, Braxton Berrios , Smith-Schuster."
Things suddenly look different for quarterback Jaxson Dart . He still has Malik Nabers as WR1 with Darius Slayton taking the WR2 spot. But now, along with Darnell Mooney , Calvin Austin III , and rookie Malachi Fields , the Giants have the new trio fighting to get in the mix.
Smith-Schuster reached the Pro Bowl back in 2018 with the Steelers. But he hasn't been able to duplicate that success since then. He has also played for the Chiefs and Patriots.
The key question is when Giants WR Malik Nabers will return
Part of the issue with so many veteran bodies in the mix is Nabers. Will he be ready to go by Week 1? It's not easy to know , according to a post on X by Jordan Raanan via NBC Sports.

"He's in the middle of [his rehab]," Giants head coach John Harbaugh said. "It's a hard thing. It's an ACL, whatever else he had in the knee. Not a simple knee [injury]. So, he's in the slog of it, the grind of it, I would say. So, he's fighting through it. He's here every day.
"Just impossible to predict [when he'll be ready]. I mean, the goal is to start the season and for him to get out there sometime in training camp — that'd be the goal. And then, we'll see what happens. If he's out there, great. If he's not out there, great. We'll be ready to go either way. But I know he's fighting like crazy to do his best to be out there. And he's with the guys every day."
