Juventus Lose Thuram to Injury for Several Months Too
Juventus have been worried about Khephren Thuram for a while, and their concern was justified. After visiting a specialist earlier this week, he underwent surgery to treat chondropathy of the patella in his right knee in Lyon.
According to TuttoSport , the team expects him to return after Kenan Yildiz , who will miss two to three months because of a foot fracture. Therefore, the midfielder is unlikely to return before the end of 2026.

Juventus were wary of the Thuram situation and brought in Pape Sarr to replace him after the talks with Franck Kessié collapsed. The Frenchman tried to play through the issue late last season. He sat out the entire pre-season program because of patellofemoral pain syndrome.
The Bianconeri have been leaning on Douglas Luiz, who has looked re-energized so far. Teun Koopmeiners also showed signs of life, scoring against Parma. In addition, they retained Nicolas Gonzalez, which will allow them to deploy Weston McKennie in the midfield.
Our Take on Juventus and Thuram
It's a very serious injury, as cartilage damage is hard to come back from. It wouldn't be surprising if it took him longer. Since he wasn't called up for the World Cup, he could have gotten the surgery early in the summer, containing his absence in terms of missed games, but they probably didn't know the problem was that severe at the time. He hadn't been great for a while, and this is a very valid reason. Considering how sourly things ended with Kessié, one has to wonder whether his camp hiked the request once they learned he would have come in as a much-needed regular, not an experienced depth piece.
