Energy Moment of the Matchday 26: Kévin Denkey
Kévin Denkey delivered the final blow in an Eastern Conference slugfest.
The FC Cincinnati Designated Player arrived unmarked at the back post to equalize from a corner kick in second-half stoppage time during a 3-3 thriller against Charlotte FC .
The classic poacher's finish earned the Togo international Energy Moment of the Matchday presented by Celsiushonors for Matchday 26.
In a rollercoaster battle, Denkey was in the right place at the right time to equalize in the 51st minute before dramatically completing his brace in the 91st minute to snap Cincinnati's two-game losing skid.
Coming up clutch late in games has become somewhat of a trend for the club-record signing, who similarly took home Moment of the Matchday honors in Matchday 5 for his stoppage-time winner against CF Montréal .
Denkey is now up to a team-leading 13 goals this season, level with Evander , along with four assists. He has recorded double-digit goal tallies in each of his two MLS seasons.
Denkey and FC Cincinnati are back in action in a crucial cross-conference matchup on Saturday as they look to solidify their Audi MLS Cup Playoff place when visiting Houston Dynamo FC (8:30 pm ET | Apple TV ).
