Kage Casey’s ‘so happy’ the team he was hoping for drafted him

New Denver Broncos offensive lineman ended up exactly where he wanted to be. Casey, a fourth-round draft pick (111th overall) in the 2026 NFL draft, wanted to end up with the man who he models his game after.

"It’s so surreal," Casey said in a conference call with Denver media members after being drafted by the Broncos . "Same color scheme, same everything. I’m so excited. It’s basically a rock’s throw away from where I lived in Boise. I’m so excited for this new environment, a new coaching staff, a new team. I’m just so excited to be part of the Broncos again.”

The last time Denver selected a tackle out of Boise State, they ended up with a wall-like figure in Ryan Clady , who became a strong blindside protector during his time with the Broncos .

Casey said he wanted to end up with the Broncos . “I was for sure hoping for it," Casey said. "They’ve been a team I’ve been eyeing. I was really hoping they would pick me, and I’m so happy it came true.”

The Broncos have certainly been a team players want to go to in this draft cycle. Maybe it has something to do with winning the AFC West last season. Maybe it has something to do with being a win away from a Super Bowl berth. Maybe it has something to do with a complete team on offense and defense, new facilities or strong ownership. Whatever the case, Denver has put itself on the map in the best way.
