The Kansas City Chiefs were spectators during last year's Super Bowl LX matchup as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots . New Kansas City Chiefs free-agent offseason additions, running back Kenneth Walker III and defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga , recently spoke with reporters at Missouri Western State University about their Super Bowl experience as opponents.
"When we finally met, we were talking about the Super Bowl and the plays and each team," said Walker. "But it's great to have him on the team, and I'm ready to be able to ball on his side."
Walker led the Seahawks to victory over the Patriots in Super Bowl LX, earning ge MVP honors with 27 carries for a season-high 135 yards and 26 receiving yards. Tonga expressed his appreciation for having Walker as a teammate after his star-making performance.
"Every time we watch these videos of him (Walker), it's always in the Super Bowl, and I just have to look away sometimes," said Tonga. "But no, I'm so glad we're on the same side now. In practice, he definitely makes us work on the defensive side, just being honest in everything we do. So having someone like K9 on our squad, man, it's so fun."
Tonga finished the losing effort with one assisted tackle. He, along with Walker, is a highly touted offseason signing expected to help get the Chiefs back to the playoffs in 2026.
