KENT — The Kent State Golden Flashes will look to keep pace in the Mid-American Conference men's basketball race tonight when they host Ohio. Tip-off from the MAC Center is at 7 p.m.
Kent State (15-5, 6-2) is in third place in the MAC, two games behind league leader Miami. Ohio (11-10, 5-4) sits in fifth place.

Kent State pulls away late, beats Ohio
Kent State dominates Ohio down the stretch and beats the Bobcats 72-57.
Double-doubles from Morgan Safford (18 points, 10 rebounds), Delrecco Gillespie (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Magnus Entenmann (12 points, 10 rebounds) lead the Flashes. Cian Medley had 13 points and eight assists.
Kent State will head into Friday's game at Akron 16-5 overall and 7-2 in the Mid-American Conference.
Kent State clinging to lead in final minutes
Kent State leads Ohio 56-52 with 3:45 left.
Cian Medley scored five points with the clock stopped for the Flashes a few minutes. He drew a foul on a made layup, hit the free throw and tacked on two more free throws after Ohio was assessed a technical.

Ohio climbs back in it after Kent State grabs biggest lead
Kiir Kuany hits a 3 to cut Ohio's deficit to 41-37 with 12:28 left. The Bobcats are on a 7-0 after Kent State grabbed its biggest lead.
Fast start to second half for Kent State
The Flashes open the second half on a 7-2 run and lead Ohio 35-26. Bobcats head coach Jeff Boals calls a timeout.
Kent State leads Ohio at halftime
It was a struggle at times, but the Flashes have a 28-24 lead over the Bobcats at halftime.
Delrecco Gillespie leads Kent State with seven points and five rebounds. He has played just seven minutes.
Kent State and Ohio still struggling to gain traction
Unlike the previous game at the MAC Center, Kent State and Ohio won't eclipse 100 points — unless this game goes three or four overtimes.

The Flashes lead the Bobcats 22-20 with 3:17 left in the first half. This game comes a week after unbeaten Miami's 107-101 overtime win here.

Delrecco Gillespie does have seven points and five rebounds for the Flashes. He is well on his way to another double-double.
Kent State's Rob Whaley Jr. sidelined tonight
Rob Whaley Jr. is in street clothes and will not play for the Flashes tonight. Dezmon Briscoe will get the start at center.
Flashes radio play-by-play announcer Dane Richardson said in an X post that Whatley is sidelined due to an injury in practice.
Kent State-Ohio men's basketball all-time series
This will be the 164th meeting between Kent State and Ohio. The Bobcats lead the all-time series 101-62.

Kent State has won nine of the last 16 games, including a 76-75 victory in the last meeting at the MAC Center on Feb. 14, 2025. Tonight's game will be the only regular-season matchup between the two teams.

Kent State men's basketball working overtime
The Flashes played two overtime games last week. They lost to unbeaten Miami 107-101 at home and needed two overtimes to win at Eastern Michigan 76-75.
Kent State is 2-2 in overtime games this season.
