The Golden Flashes (2-4, 1-2) trailed just 14-7 when quarterback Dru DeShields threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Brendyn Smith with 1:55 left in the second quarter. But Broc Lowry's 28-yard TD pass to Baylin Brooks with 33 seconds left in the half put the Broncos (4-2, 2-0) back in control.
Western Michigan then outscored Kent State 17-0 in the second half to win going away.
