- Kentucky Wildcats PG Jaland Lowe is entering the transfer portal
Kentucky basketball point guard Jaland Lowe is entering the transfer portal after one season with the Wildcats, according to On3's Joe Tipton . He is the first Kentucky player to announce they will be transferring when the portal opens.
Lowe played in just nine games due to a shoulder injury he suffered in the Blue-White Game, making two starts. He attempted to play through the injury, but reaggravated it several times before he was ultimately forced to end his season, which played a key role in Kentucky's offensive struggles.
The Missouri City, Texas native averaged 8.0 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game. He will have at least one season of eligibility at his next program and potentially two if granted a medical redshirt for this past season.
He started his career with the Pittsburgh Panthers , spending two seasons with them before transferring to Kentucky ahead of the 2025-26 season. He broke out as a sophomore, averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, making the Third Team All-ACC. He averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game as a freshman.
Lowe was one of the top transfers that Mark Pope signed last offseason. On3 ranked him as the No. 54 overall player and No. 15 point guard in the transfer portal. He has not been ranked as a 2026 transfer.
