- Kings Explode For Six Goals, Keep Road Trip Momentum Rolling
"The start felt fast; we moved quickly and were predictable with each other, which helped the team find success. Everyone contributed. It was a good road win," as Mikey Anderson said postgame.
After a disappointing loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, the Los Angeles Kings (3-5-3-2) battled against the Devils' Hudson River rival tonight, rallying to beat the New York Rangers 6-3 (7-6-1) and continuing their road trip success, now 3-1 and three-for-four in their last four games.

Several players for the Los Angeles Kings shone tonight, with Artemi Panarin, Alex Laferriere, Drew Doughty, and Mikey Anderson putting up big numbers to lead the Kings with a season-high six goals, contributing to the road team's victory.
While it looked like the Rangers were sneaking up a little as they cut the deficit 5-3 late in the third period, Edmundson nailed the dagger from way downtown, scoring on the empty net to extend the 6-3 lead, with under 3:23 remaining.
Veteran Drew Doughty put on a clinic in the Big Apple, finishing with one goal, two assists, and three points, helping keep the Kings' offense afloat early in the game. Panarin also chipped in two points, a goal and an assist, cashing in the Kings' only power-play goal of the night on the high-glove side.

The road team also got help from Brandt Clarke and Taylor Ward, both scoring off the gates in the first three minutes of the opening period, giving LA a 2-0.
"Yeah, it's huge for us. It's always better to play with the lead, so that mattered to us. I thought we came out of the gates well, and we were able to just build momentum off of that," Ward said after the Kings' fast start.
The Kings never trailed tonight and led by as many as four goals after Panarin and Anderson scored in the second period, pushing the lead to 5-1. The road team finished 1/3 on the power play and finished with 26 shots, the same as the home team.
Los Angeles improves to 3-5-2 and continues their strong road trip with another win, bringing its season total to 8 points. Despite the bad start, the Kings still have plenty of the season left to keep leading each other and improve.

The Silver and Black will end their five-game road trip tomorrow with a back-to-back against the Chicago Blackhawks at 5:00 P.M., with a chance to finish on a high note.
