Sky Sports reports on Tuesday night that Stuttgart striker Deniz Undav will not be nominated by Jürgen Klopp when the UEFA Nations League squad is announced on Thursday. The 30-year-old has a slow start to the season with the Swabians.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Klopp informed the player about the decision in a personal conversation. The Sky Sports reporter also confirmed that Eintracht Frankfurt duo Younes Ebnoutalib and Jonathan Burkardt are going to be included in his place.
It'll be a first selection for Ebnoutalib, who started the Bundesliga campaign with a hat-trick away at Union Berlin . Burkardt was omitted from the World Cup squad after failing to score in his first five appearances for Germany.
Meanwhile, Undav was Germany's joint-top-scorer in the tournament staged in North America alongside Kai Havertz . The Varel-native has scored nine goals in 13 appearances, all of which were under Julian Nagelsmann.
