- Kyle Long reveals the television advice he received from his father
This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with retired All-Pro offensive lineman and CBS Sports analyst Kyle Long.
In his interview with Easton Jr., Long shared the advice he received from his Pro Football Hall of Fame father, Howie Long, about becoming a television commentator following his recent work as a remote analyst for NFL Christmas Gameday on Netflix.
"A lot of the advice I took from him was just from me watching and hanging out in the studio as a little kid. You know, I'd be four or five years old sitting on Terry Bradshaw's knee in the studio, just laughing and understanding that, for the most part, people who are watching want to have a good time," said Long, "They're watching football, but they want to laugh a little bit. They want to learn a little bit. They want to laugh. You know, don't make them cry too much. I'll say people want to hang out with you, be yourself, is the advice my dad always gave me, just be yourself, because if you're not doing that, it'll probably be pretty weird."

Long began his broadcasting career shortly after retiring from the Kansas City Chiefs in his final season in 2021.
