The Los Angeles Lakers finally got on the right side of the ledger on Thursday night, hammering the Golden State Warriors , 119-103. That snapped a three-game losing streak in which the Lakers were outscored by 85 points.
Midway through the fourth quarter, LeBron James appeared to have a confrontation with a Warriors fan sitting nearby. The encounter was caught on camera.
It is hard to hear everything James had to say for the female fan. But if you listen carefully, you can hear him telling the fan to “just watch the game,” as he pointed in her direction. To which the fan responded “You are winning.”
Indeed, Los Angeles held a 24-point lead at the time of the encounter.
In the win, James led all scorers with 26 points. He was incredibly efficient, too, knocking down 11 of 17 shots from the field. LeBron chipped in with 11 assists, eight rebounds, two steals, and a block.
The Lakers improved to 52-29 and are just one game behind the Denver Nuggets for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. But, as Lakers fans are keenly aware, none of that probably matters any longer.
Luka Doncic suffered a hamstring injury and his playoff future is uncertain. One night later, Austin Reaves was hurt. He is out for at least the next month.
Barring LeBron taking this Lakers team on a run like he did the 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers squad (when he was 20 years younger mind you), Los Angeles faces an uphill battle in the stacked West.
