Lamine Yamal may not have played in Barcelona’s 2-0 win over Getafe in La Liga on Saturday but he was very much in this team-mates’ thoughts.

Fermin Lopez broke the deadlock against Jose Bordalas’s side and promptly brought out Yamal’s famous celebration as he dedicated his goal to his injured team-mate.

He explained why after the game: “I dedicated the goal to Lamine because we came up together to the first team and it hurts me that he can’t play anymore.”

Yamal was watching from afar and was quick to respond: “I love you, my guy,” he posted on Instagram after the goal went in.

The win moves Barcelona yet another step closer to retaining their La Liga title. Hansi Flick’s side are now 11 points clear with just five games left to play.

However, the German coach has warned his players not to start celebrating just yet.

“I want to forget about all the calculations. What’s important is today,” he said after the final whistle. “We shouldn’t think about other matches. We have to celebrate when it’s done.”

Barcelona return to action next weekend against Osasuna .
