Finding a dependable running back on the waiver wire becomes increasingly difficult as the fantasy football season progresses. Injuries and changing backfield rotations can create unexpected opportunities. Week 9 is no exception , with several players emerging as potential streaming options after impressive performances or increased involvement. Whether you're dealing with injuries, bye-week absences, or an underperforming starter, these four running backs deserve consideration before setting your Week 9 lineup .

Tyler Allgeier, ARI (@ SEA)

Tyler Allgeier could be one of the most valuable waiver-wire additions heading into Week 9 . He rushed 11 times for 147 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for another 44 yards. It was a massive breakthrough for Allgeier. He had not rushed for more than 50 yards in his previous six contests. He took full advantage of an Arizona backfield dealing with injuries to Jeremiyah Love and Bam Knight. Allgeier turned increased opportunities into 191 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.

The biggest question now is whether that workload will continue. If Love and Knight remain sidelined for Arizona's Week 9 matchup, Allgeier could once again handle a substantial share of the backfield touches. Remember that volume matters at running back. Allgeier should be considered a strong streaming option with significant upside.

Jonah Coleman, DEN (@ CAR)

Jonah Coleman is quickly becoming one of the more intriguing running back options in fantasy football. He rushed 11 times for 41 yards and a touchdown while catching four of five targets for 63 yards in Week 8.

What makes Coleman's performance particularly encouraging is his growing role in the Broncos' backfield. He led Denver's running backs in carries for the second consecutive game. He even had more touches than JK Dobbins in Week 8. Coleman also delivered the game-winning touchdown with approximately two minutes remaining.

The workload comparison is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Across the last two games, Coleman has recorded 24 carries compared to 13 for Dobbins. That suggests that Denver is becoming more comfortable featuring him.

That development puts Coleman firmly into the weekly fantasy football starter conversation. The Week 9 matchup against Carolina offers another opportunity to build on his momentum. Coleman's receiving involvement also gives him additional value in PPR leagues. Managers searching for a running back streamer should strongly consider adding Coleman before his workload becomes even more valuable.

Devin Singletary , NYG (@ PHI)

Devin Singletary made the most of his limited opportunities in the Giants' 27-21 victory over Houston. He rushed for 41 yards and a touchdown on just five carries. Singletary's performance becomes more interesting when considering the Giants' injury situation. Both Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy sustained injuries during the contest. That potentially creates additional opportunities in the backfield.

If Skattebo or Tracy miss additional time, Singletary could become a much more relevant option. His experience and ability to capitalize on limited touches make him worth monitoring, particularly in deeper leagues.

Woody Marks, HOU (@ LAC)

Woody Marks offers another potential streaming option. He carried the ball 19 times for 66 yards in the Texans' loss to the Giants. The overall production was not spectacular. Marks failed to break off a major run or find the end zone. That left fantasy football managers without the kind of scoring boost that can turn a high-volume performance into a strong outing.

Nevertheless, his workload is encouraging. Marks was clearly the Texans' primary ball carrier. That kind of volume gives him a potential path to fantasy relevance, even if his efficiency needs to improve.

Houston now emerges from its bye week against the Chargers. For now, Marks is worth considering in deeper leagues. That's particularly true for managers who prioritize opportunity over immediate production. However, his fantasy outlook will depend heavily on Houston's backfield health after the break.

Final Takeaway

Allgeier and Coleman are the two most appealing immediate streaming options. That's thanks to their recent production and expanding opportunities. Singletary is worth considering, while Marks offers volume but faces uncertainty. Monitor late-week injury updates, prioritize workload, and make your waiver decisions before these opportunities disappear.
