The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators may have been playing a preseason game Wednesday night, but things got very real when two former OHL rivals dropped the gloves at center ice.
Just over five minutes into the opening period, Leafs prospect Landon Sim squared off with Senators defenseman Matthew Andonovski, with the fight ending almost as quickly as it started.
Sim landed a clean punch that sent Andonovski tumbling to the ice, instantly making the fight one of his biggest standout moments of the night.
Watch the fight here below:
There was already some history between the two players. Sim spent four seasons with the London Knights, while Andonovski played his entire five-year OHL career with the Kitchener Rangers. Those clubs were frequent rivals, including a memorable 2025 Western Conference Final that saw London eliminate Kitchener in four games.
Andonovski finished his junior career as a physical, hard-nosed defenseman and won the OHL's Ted Baker Teammate of the Year Award in 2026. Sim, meanwhile, became known for bringing plenty of physicality to London, recording 18 fighting majors during his OHL career.
Now both are trying to establish themselves in the NHL, and their latest chapter came with a pretty memorable opening punch.
