LeBron James said watching Bronny James play in Cleveland added an emotional layer to the experience.
He described the significance of seeing his son perform in front of family and familiar surroundings. The moment of his dunk stood out regardless of the result on the court.
"It was pretty cool just sitting over there and watching him just continue to live out his dream. Obviously it's a homecoming for him.
"And to see him get that fastbreak dunk, hit a couple shots, get the ovation from the fans, it's a pretty cool moment for him, for us as a family, for my wife and his siblings. Just super cool."
LeBron James also highlighted the importance of having his mother in attendance. He said the family dynamic made the night difficult to fully process.
"And my mom is here watching her son and her grandson. Like, I don't even know how to even wrap that all in one in my brain.
"And yeah, it's so weird and so cool and so surreal. My mom gets to watch her son and her grandson play in the NBA at the same time. I actually just started to think about how insane that is. That's awesome."
The scene reinforced why Cleveland continues to hold personal significance for LeBron James and his family.
With rumors of James potentially leaving the Lakers this summer, perhaps this visit to Cleveland could spark hopes of a second return to the Cavaliers for James.
