Leeds United are confident Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be going nowhere.
The England striker was surprisingly linked with a cross-Pennines move to Manchester United this week.
The 29-year-old is a huge fans' favourite at Elland Road, scoring 15 goals in all competitions last season and racking up four this season so far.
Given his importance to Daniel Farke's set up, it is difficult to imagine Leeds would entertain a sale.
And it is even more unlikely they would do so to their most fierce rivals.
Indeed, talkSPORT and GiveMeSport journalist Ben Jacobs has signalled Leeds' intention amid the interest.
What do Leeds plan to do with Dominic Calvert-Lewin?
It was reported by the Athletic on Thursday that Calvert-Lewin is on a list of striker targets for United in January.
The Red Devils are reportedly planning to assess the possibility of a transfer, though acknowledge it is a remote chance.
However, Leeds are clearly not ready to even entertain the possibility of letting their leading striker go to Old Trafford.
Indeed, Jacobs reports for GiveMeSport that Leeds are ready to fight keep hold of Calvert-Lewin.
He adds that they are planning to offer the former Everton striker a new contract in order to stave off interest in one of their prized assets.
It is said that Calvert-Lewin has not yet agreed to fresh terms, but there is an expectation that he will sign fresh terms.
Why everyone will be considering 'incredible' Calvert-Lewin as Man United linked with Leeds ace Leeds making smart move with Calvert-Lewin
Calvert-Lewin's current deal at Elland Road runs until the summer of 2028, so Leeds are under no immediate pressure.
But the closer it gets to the summer, the more there would be a bit of edginess among the Elland Road hierarchy.
So, it makes complete sense to try and agree to frest terms, especially in the context of their rivals trying to prise him away.
Leeds have been stung in the past by key players moving to Old Trafford, but this does not feel like a case of history repeating itself.
Indeed, it feels more like Calvert-Lewin is ready to commit himself to the cause, and continue his affinity with the Elland Road faithful.
