The European transfer market is heating up. French journalist Sébastien Denis , writing via Foot Mercato, broke an exclusive report detailing the intense scramble for AJ Auxerre forward Lassine Sinayoko . He has caught the attention of several top-flight teams after a brilliant campaign. It has sparked frantic conversations across the continent. Several Ligue 1 outfits want to keep him in France. Yet the strongest allure comes from abroad. Both Bundesliga and Premier League clubs are firmly in the race.
Brighton and Hove Albion have already registered their interest. Leeds United represent another historical English institution currently locked in deep discussions with the player's representatives and inner entourage. Having established himself as a premier attacking outlet in France, the versatile 26-year-old looks destined for a massive summer move away from his current surroundings. The raw data from the recently concluded French top-flight campaign highlights exactly why talent spotters are queueing up.
Sinayoko enjoyed a highly productive year with Auxerre, leading their frontline with tremendous authority while starting 32 matches and racking up an impressive 2,780 minutes of action. He clinically executed 12 goals and registered 4 assists, a return that looks even more impressive when you look closely at his underlying metrics. He recorded a total of 92 shot attempts, generating a non-penalty expected goals figure of 8.71, which shows an exceptional ability to convert low-probability chances into actual goals.
His standard performance remained remarkably consistent, highlighted by an exemplary match against Lille where he scored twice to secure a 2-0 away victory. Beyond his clinical finishing, his physically robust frame allowed him to win 165 total duels, showing he can handle heavy physical contact.

Daniel Farke and the Elland Road hierarchy must evaluate this option carefully. The sporting dynamics in West Yorkshire demand immediate, guaranteed quality. The club recently consolidated their position in the Premier League with a commendable 14th-place finish. This means the recruitment strategy must focus on building sustained forward momentum. Auxerre currently value their talismanic forward at approximately £12 million to £15 million . It is a fee that represents superb financial value in an inflated marketplace where average strikers command triple that amount.
Sinayoko provides exactly the kind of tactical flexibility that Farke appreciates. He can comfortably lead the line as a traditional line-leader or drift out wide to overload the flanks. He won 53 fouls last year. He constantly occupied opposition central defenders, creating immense space for creative players behind him. While Leeds have other targets like Shea Charles and Harry Wilson on their radar, adding a proven European goalscorer at this price point makes total sense. They shouldn't walk away. Instead, the board must match Brighton 's financial package to secure this signature.
