- Lightning Should Consider Signing Former Canadiens Sniper
The Tampa Bay Lightning would benefit by adding another skilled forward to their roster.
The Canadiens could use another winger to help solidify their top nine. When looking at free agents around the NHL, former Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine would be an interesting player for them to take a chance on.

At this point in the season, Laine could likely be had at a very affordable price. Due to this and the Lightning needing another scorer, they would be wise to take a gamble on him with a one-year deal.
If Laine stayed healthy and regained his form, he would have the potential to be a strong addition to the Lightning's power play and middle six. Keep in mind, just back during the 2024-25 season, he posted 20 goals and 33 points in 52 games. With numbers like these, he showed not too long ago that he can still provide decent secondary scoring.
Due to this, it will be interesting to see if the Lightning end up pursuing Laine. He could be a good fit on their roster as they aim to build on their strong start to the season.
