Ligue 1 kicks off this Friday, and 17 teams will have the near-impossible task of stopping PSG from winning their 15th title, which would also be their sixth in a row.
In the match that opened the season, Lens managed to upset PSG by beating them 1-0 in the Super Cup. Could it be a sign of what's to come?
But Ligue 1 2026/2027 is about more than just trying to stop PSG from winning the title...
Filipe Luís and Ancelottinho
The vast majority of clubs changed managers for the season. Two of them stand out:

- Filipe Luís: the former Flamengo manager takes on his first job in Europe as Monaco head coach.
- Davide Ancelotti: formerly of Botafogo, Carlo Ancelotti's son left his assistant role with the national team to take charge of Lille .
Overwhelming favoritism
Everyone knows PSG are the clear favorites. In addition to winning the last five Ligue 1 titles, PSG have also won the last two Champions League editions.
According to Opta, PSG have a 68% chance of winning the title. The biggest threats to PSG are Lens, Lille, Lyon , and Monaco.

PSG's dominance is so great that, despite already being the strongest team in the competition, the club also made the three most expensive signings of the transfer window.
The capital club invested in a new attacking trio: Ferran Torres (26 years old - €48.5 million), Mika Godts (21 years old - €45 million), and Maghnes Akliouche (24 years old - €50 million).
