As Detroit jumps into padded practice No. 2, Lions head coach Dan Campbell updated its trio of Monday injuries .
Running back Sione Vaki , tight end Anthony Firkser and wide receiver Lawrence Keys all exited Monday's training camp practice early to be evaluated for potential injuries.
"Vaki yesterday got poked in the eye, broken nose, so he's going to be out for a little bit here. We're hopeful vision should be OK in time. We're not going to have him here today. Just going to let him kind of recover a little bit, so we think he'll be OK. He's just going to need a minute here. Just one of those freak things. Somehow a hand gets through the facemask. It was unbelievable.
"Firk, he's got a fractured fibula, so he'll be out, obviously. And then Keys had a little bit of a hammy. So, got (Zach) Horton back today at the tight end position and we move on. We move on," Campbell said.
Firkser has been placed on injured reserve alongside rookie wide receiver Kendrick Law, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear during OTAs.
Offensive tackle Giovanni Manu is on the Active/Non-Football Injury list, tight end Tyler Conklin and safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph are on the PUP list.
Lions rookie EDGE Derrick Moore is expected back in about a week , while rookie linebacker Jimmy Rolder and rookie tight end Miles Kitselman will be "out for a while."
