Laurent Courtois is under pressure to keep Columbus Crew in the Leagues Cup as it rides a three-loss run into Wednesday's Leagues Cup quarter-final at Club América. The Crew went undefeated in the league phase of this competition and hope to keep that record alive against Mexico's in-form team.
The Eagles, meanwhile, are undefeated in eight (excluding penalty shootouts) and sit atop the Apertura standings having still yet to taste defeat in regulation time this term. Guillermo is off to an incredible start to life in Mexico City as he looks to restore América to its best and hopes to become the first Liga MX side to get the better of Columbus this season.
Courtois previously enjoyed a successful term as head coach of Columbus Crew's reserves but has failed to summon the same success in charge of the first team. It was only two years ago the MLS outfit lifted the Leagues Cup, though the club has since undergone a sharp decline in its title prospects.

América was missing Victor Davila, Luis Malagon and Alejandro Zendejas for the 2-1 win away to Juarez on Friday and won't be fit to feature this week. Rudy Camancho could return for Columbus after he was suspended for the 3-2 league loss at Nashville on Saturday, though Jamal Thiare, Sekou Bangoura and Wessam Abou Ali are each set to miss out through injury.
