Liverpool are about to replace a club legend with a wonderkid.
The summer of 2026 will likely forever be shrouded in infamy for the Reds. The signings they acquired could go onto become superstars.

Bradley Barcola meanwhile has all the talent in the world to become one of the best wingers on the planet, if he isn't already.
The arrival of the duo on permanent deals definitely address the lack of speed in Liverpool's attacking department that made Arne Slot's squad so one-dimensional last season.
But while the acquisition of Ronald Araujo on a loan transfer could also prove to be smart business, Liverpool fans walked away from that window being underwhelmed.
Liverpool have massive plans for the future
The truth is that a lot of the club's activity in this summer's window was with a view in mind for what will lie ahead.

Liverpool decided not to pursue certain targets this summer because they believe there could be better players available next summer in the market.

Meanwhile, they sent out Ifeanyi Ndukwe on loan to Levante in order for him to earn the necessary points to qualify for a work-permit in the United Kingdom.
These deals will provide much needed depth going forward. In the long-term Andoni Iraola should have a better squad.

Why Brughmans is being lined up as an Alisson successor
It is no secret that the Brazilian's time at Anfield is edging closer to a conclusion. Alisson was close to leaving this summer when Juventus were interested in him.
However, in the end Liverpool persuaded him to stay.
They won't have the power to do that for long, though. Alisson's contract expires in 2027 and he will be a free agent come the end of the current campaign.
The Brazilian will be looking for a long-term deal and that is not something that Liverpool are likely to grant him.

The Athletic are already reporting that Alisson is expected to wrap-up his Liverpool career at the end of the season.
The site also claims that newly recruited Brughmans will come into consideration to replace him.
That would be quite something. Brughmans is a record-breaker ,having become the most expensive U23 goalkeeper of all time. But stepping into Alisson's shoes is a huge ask.
