Liverpool Transfer News: Cher Ndour Emerging as Midfield Target
Liverpool are monitoring Fiorentina midfielder Cher Ndour, with the Italian publication La Repubblica reporting that the 22 year old has attracted interest from both the Reds and Juventus.

The report provides an intriguing name for Liverpool supporters to consider as Andoni Iraola begins shaping his squad and assessing where further additions could be required. Ndour is understood to be valued by Fiorentina at more than €30-35 million, equivalent to approximately £26-30 million, with the club currently reluctant to consider a January departure.
Liverpool Monitoring Cher Ndour Situation
According to La Repubblica , Liverpool are following Ndour's development closely. Fiorentina are understood to be prepared to listen to offers in June, although their current position is that the midfielder will not be sold during the January window.
Ndour has made 63 appearances for Fiorentina since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025, contributing to 12 goals during that period.

His recent performances for Italy Under-21s have also helped raise his profile. Ndour scored twice against Poland to help Italy reach the European Championship, with his second goal particularly notable after he found the net from inside his own half.
Fiorentina paid PSG €5 million for his services, with the French club retaining a 50 per cent sell-on clause. That arrangement could make any future transfer financially significant for all parties.

Juventus and Premier League Interest
Liverpool are not the only club watching Ndour. La Repubblica states that Juventus are also following the midfielder, while previous interest has come from Crystal Palace and Napoli.

Palace made what was described as a concrete offer, which Fiorentina rejected. Napoli have also been turned away.
Ndour has already accumulated a varied career despite his age, having represented Benfica, PSG, Braga and Besiktas before establishing himself in Italy. His experience across several leagues is another factor likely to appeal to clubs assessing his long term potential.
At 6ft 3in, Ndour possesses an imposing physical profile for a midfielder. His technical qualities and versatility provide further reasons for Liverpool to retain an interest as they consider the evolution of their squad under Iraola.
Liverpool Midfield Recruitment Could Develop
Liverpool's immediate priority remains Sunday's meeting with Manchester City at Anfield, with Iraola's squad returning to the AXA Training Centre following the international break.

The Reds currently sit sixth with nine points after five league matches, while City have won all five of their games and lead the table on 15 points.
There are also fitness concerns to manage, with Alexander Isak returning from Sweden duty with a thigh problem and Cody Gakpo coming back from Netherlands duty with an ankle injury. Jeremy Jacquet also missed France's victory over Belgium because of a left hamstring strain, while Hugo Ekitike remains sidelined with an Achilles injury.
Those issues underline the importance of squad depth, although any decision on Ndour would be expected to form part of a longer term recruitment strategy.
For now, the strongest conclusion from the La Repubblica report is that Liverpool are monitoring the situation rather than actively pursuing an imminent deal. Fiorentina's €30-35 million valuation would also represent a substantial investment.

Ndour's age, physical presence, technical ability and experience across Europe make him an interesting player to watch. Whether Liverpool decide to move from monitoring to making an offer will be one of the more intriguing transfer developments to follow as the season progresses.
Our View
Liverpool supporters will understandably take an interest whenever a young midfielder with Ndour's physical profile is linked with the club. At 22, he fits the age bracket Liverpool could reasonably target for a player capable of developing into an important long term contributor.
The €30-35 million valuation is significant, particularly when Fiorentina appear to have little appetite for selling in January. That immediately makes this feel more like a summer possibility than a deal that needs immediate attention.

There is also a sense that Liverpool's recruitment should remain focused on players who can add something distinctive. Ndour's 6ft 3in frame, versatility and experience in different European environments certainly make him an interesting proposition.
The fact that Juventus, Crystal Palace and Napoli have also shown interest suggests Fiorentina are likely to have competition if they eventually decide to sell.
For Liverpool fans, the key question is whether Iraola sees Ndour as someone who can become a regular starter or as a squad player with room to develop. At this stage, it would be premature to suggest anything more than interest. La Repubblica's report is certainly worth monitoring, though, and Ndour is a name supporters may hear considerably more about before next summer.
