The Louisville basketball program is making huge waves in the transfer portal this offseason. Louisville is landing Kansas big man Flory Bidunga, and Oregon transfer guard Jackson Shelstad. The news was first reported by ESPN.
"A major package deal for the Cardinals, as the Louisville administration was aggressive in laying out a vision for building championship roster," Pete Thamel posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Louisville is led by head coach Pat Kelsey, who has led the Cardinals to the NCAA tournament in each of his two seasons there. The Cardinals have yet to reach the second weekend of the tournament under Kelsey.
These commitments will undoubtedly help make Louisville one of the top teams in the ACC again next season.
"Shelstad was a former two-time Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year while in high school and a top-30 overall recruit, who largely lived up the hype in three years with the Ducks. This season, he averaged 15.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 12 games played before suffering a hand injury in December that kept him out the remainder of the year," On3 reported.
Bidunga meanwhile played two seasons at Kansas . He helped lead the Jayhawks to the NCAA tournament in both of his seasons in Lawrence. Bidunga averaged 13 points per game during the 2025-26 season.
Bidugna improved his stats in several areas during his sophomore season. That included his free-throw shooting, as he made more than 65 percent of his attempts. He helped Kansas win 24 total games.
Louisville is expected to keep looking in the portal for more talent in the weeks ahead.
