Rivals' Pete Nakos reported Wednesday that Ju'Juan Johnson is expected to enter the transfer portal following his sophomore season with LSU football .
A former four-star recruit, Johnson ranked No. 9 out of Louisiana as part of the 2024 class. The Lafayette native attended Lafayette Christian Academy before signing with then-head coach Brian Kelly in Baton Rouge.
Though he played quarterback in high school, Johnson was used as a runner and receiver at LSU . He made one start this season, finishing his two-year career with 165 yards on 45 carries and two touchdowns. He also made 22 catches for 94 yards and a touchdown.
Based on his social media posts, Johnson is likely looking for a school that wants him behind center. He demonstrated the willingness to use his athleticism in other ways as a Tiger but wants to return to his quarterback roots at his next stop.
Johnson changed his position at LSU multiple times, giving the Tigers depth wherever it was needed. That was beneficial for LSU, but it prevented Johnson from settling in and developing at one position. He'll look for more stability at his next school.
