LSU Tigers beat out Nebraska for five-star tight end
The LSU Tigers do a great job of keeping the best players in Louisiana home, and Lane Kiffin did just that on Sunday. Five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson committed to LSU on Sunday, making a surprise commitment on Sunday .
Hudson is from Ruston, Louisiana, and picked them over the Nebraska Cornhuskers , USC Trojans , and nearly every other program in the country. The Tigers have been recruiting him since November of 2024, when they offered him a scholarship. He has visited Baton Rouge numerous times since then, ultimately deciding to stay home and play for Kiffin.
He is ranked as the No. 18 overall player and No. 1 tight end in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 3 player from Louisiana
Hudson is a two-sport star at Ruston High School and is also a five-star basketball prospect. The Tigers have extended him an offer to play basketball, although it is unclear if he will attempt to play both sports. He is ranked as the No. 26 overall player and No. 5 power forward in the 247Sports composite. He is the No. 1 recruit from Louisiana.
He is the second five-star prospect LSU has landed, joining edge Jaiden Bryant. The Tigers now have five commitments in the 2027 recruiting class, with all of them ranking among the top 350 players in the country.
Hudson's addition gives LSU the No. 33 class in the country and the No. 11 class in the SEC, according to 247Sports. Their average player ranking of 92.60 is the second best in the country, and their ranking will rise as they continue to fill out their class.
