Orlando Magic vs Phoenix Suns Betting Preview
The Magic face off against the Suns on tonight's two-game Thursday slate, and I'm looking at Anthony Black to continue his strong start to the season.
Through four games, Black is averaging 16.5 points and 4.8 dimes. More importantly, his playing time is stabilizing as his minutes return to normal in the low 30s.
The usage and on-court opportunities are steadily growing for Black, especially with both Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs sidelined for Orlando.
Here, Black draws a matchup against a Suns defense that has been vulnerable against lead guards. Phoenix surrenders perimeter looks on above-the-break 3-pointers and fouls at a high clip — two specific areas where Black excels.
Black's ability to pull up from deep while consistently generating contact on drives will serve him well in this environment.
Magic vs Suns Player Prop Picks
On top of the scoring profile, Black is facilitating at a high level. He has been dishing the rock with around 60 passes made in each of his last two games.
With the ball firmly in his hands, this matchup offers plenty of upside for Black to rack up assists alongside his scoring output.
Given the uptick in minutes and expanded role running the offense without Banchero and Suggs, this number is a touch too low for Black's combined scoring and playmaking output against Phoenix's defense.
Pick: Anthony Black Over 18.5 Points & Assists (-125)
