The Maine Celtics shared that Phil Pressey will serve as head coach of the Boston Celtics G League developmental squad for a second season via a press release. Pressey was a player for Boston between 2013 and 2015 after going unselected out of Missouri in the 2013 NBA Draft. From there, he played professionally in the NBA and elsewhere for nearly a decade before he elected in 2022 to be an assistant coach at his collegiate alma mater.
From there, he rejoined the Celtics as an assistant coach, taking over as Maine Celtics head coach last season. Per the release, Pressey will be the first Maine head coach in seven seasons to have that role in consecutive campaigns. During his first campaign as a head coach with Maine (his first head coaching gig at any level), Pressey led Maine to a 27-23 overall record.
"I'm grateful for another opportunity to lead the Maine Celtics," said Pressey via the release. "The goal is for everyone who comes through the Expo to leave better than when they got here. Going into my second season, I'm excited to give all I can to the community and the Celtics organization."

The Maine Celtics have also revealed their complete coaching staff for the 2026-27 season. Assistant coach Mike Malat will also be in his second season with the team, along with Boaz Mensah, continuing his role as player development lead and assistant coach.
Additionally, the coaching team will welcome assistant coach Devin Sweetney , as well as new members Jacob Kester and Rich Kelly, who will serve as video coordinators and player development coaches, respectively.
