Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris is under increasing pressure with the Black Cats in the relegation zone.
The Mackems have been struggling to replicate last season's success and are sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Manager Le Bris has shown himself to be a tactically adept coach, but even the best will face concerns over their future in his situation.
The Frenchman has options at his disposal to turn things around, and winger Malick Fofana may be the most exciting option.
The Belgian was wanted by numerous Premier League teams during the summer, with Sunderland managing to win the race.
But Fofana has barely been trusted by Le Bris since signing, and that should now begin to change.
Fofana has yet to start a game for Sunderland in the Premier League since he made his summer move.
His arrival brought plenty of excitement, but supporters have had to wait for him to appear off the bench.
However, as per FotMob , although Fofana has had limited game time, he has been good with the ball at his feet.
The Belgian winger has completed 100 per cent of his dribbles in the Premier League over his five substitute appearances.
So, with Sunderland struggling to get results over the line, Le Bris needs to change something.
And turning to a player who has confidence and the ability to run at defenders is a weapon he can use to his advantage.
Or else, time may ultimately run out for Le Bris.
Regis Le Bris faces questions from Sunderland board - 'They are not happy' Are Sunderland's next five games make-or-break for Regis Le Bris?
Sunderland's fixtures are about to get extremely unkind for the Black Cats.
In the next five Premier League games, they will face Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Liverpool and a derby against Newcastle.
In the current form Sunderland are in, you would suspect them to be a few points from that run of games.
Le Bris could very well end up remaining at the bottom of the Premier League table by the end of that run.
So, making changes and coming up with a plan to claw Sunderland out must happen as soon as possible.
And Fofana should be in his thinking, or else he is hurting his own chances of turning things around at the Stadium of Light.
