- Manchester United Make Leipzig Captain David Raum A Top Target
RB Leipzig could face a serious battle to keep captain David Raum, with Manchester United reportedly identifying the German international as one of their top transfer targets.
According to CaughtOffside , the Premier League giants are prioritising defensive reinforcements and consider Raum an attractive option because of his experience, attacking qualities, and uncertain contract situation.

The 28-year-old's current deal expires in June 2027, leaving Die Roten Bullen facing an increasingly important decision over their captain's future.
With Juventus and Barcelona also linked to the left-back, the pressure is growing on Leipzig to secure an extension before their rivals make a move.
Manchester United See An Opportunity
Manchester United are reportedly planning to strengthen both their centre-back and left-back positions, with Raum emerging as a leading candidate for the latter.
CaughtOffside reports that the German international is among their preferred options ahead of the January transfer window.

Barcelona's Alejandro Balde and Bournemouth's Adrien Truffert have also been identified as alternatives, although both could prove considerably more expensive.
Raum's contractual situation makes him particularly appealing.
With less than a year remaining on his Leipzig deal, interested clubs could potentially negotiate a reduced transfer fee in January or pursue a free transfer next summer.
The report also suggests that Raum would be open to testing himself in the Premier League, although no formal agreement or offer has been confirmed.

The speculation arrives at a delicate moment for Die Roten Bullen .
Earlier this month, Raum confirmed in an interview with Sky Germany that discussions regarding his future had finally started moving forward.
"I think communication has started to get going a little recently."
- The Leipzig captain explained.
He also revealed that he intends to speak openly with sporting director Marcel Schäfer about his next steps.
However, Raum made clear that his commitment to Leipzig would not change regardless of the outcome.
"I want to lead by example through my performances and mentality, regardless of my contractual situation, and I will continue to do that until my very last day here in Leipzig."
- He added.
The defender also acknowledged that his family would play an important role in deciding his future, particularly if an opportunity to move abroad arises.

Leipzig Face A Difficult Contract Decision
The Red Bulls have repeatedly expressed their desire to keep Raum, but negotiations may not be straightforward.
According to previous reports, the club wants any new agreement to fit its revised salary structure.
Raum is already among Leipzig's highest earners, making the financial terms of a potential extension particularly important.
For sporting director Schäfer, losing the club captain would represent a significant setback.
Since arriving from Hoffenheim in 2022, Raum has developed into one of the club's most influential players, contributing through his leadership, dangerous deliveries, and attacking runs from left-back.

His importance extends beyond his performances on the pitch, especially after taking over the captaincy.
With Manchester United, Juventus, and Barcelona monitoring developments, Leipzig cannot afford to let negotiations drift indefinitely.
The coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether Raum commits his future to the Red Bull Arena or prepares for the next chapter of his career.
