March Madness hero Dylan Darling transfers to Grand Canyon
It's not often that a player who averaged under seven points and three assists per game gets a lot of attention when his name comes up in the transfer portal. Unless he's Dylan Darling.
While the statistics didn't jump off the page for the junior guard in his one and only season with St. John's, Darling's heroics in a round of 32 NCAA tournament game for the Red Storm earned him a special place in history. The buzzer-beating layup against Kansas also earned him a unique nickname.
Be that as it may, Darling's time in the Big Apple is over, as he's committed to transfer to Grand Canyon for his senior season.
Before arriving at St. John's, Darling was the Big Sky's 2024-2025 Player of the Year while at Idaho State. He spent the first two seasons of his college career at Washington State.
