Seattle exercised Muñoz's $9 million option, ensuring one of the most reliable relievers in baseball remains in its bullpen. The right-hander has established himself as a key part of the Mariners' pitching staff, making the decision to retain him an understandable move as the club looks to remain competitive.

Muñoz gives Seattle an experienced closer capable of handling high-pressure situations. Keeping him in place provides continuity at the back end of the bullpen while the Mariners evaluate their other offseason needs.
The decisions on Miller and Robles were less straightforward. Miller has shown the potential to be a dependable starting pitcher, flashing his ability during the regular season and in the postseason. However, injuries have disrupted his progress, and Seattle's rotation depth likely made it easier for the club to decline his option.

Miller now becomes a free agent, giving him an opportunity to find a new team where he could compete for a spot in the starting rotation. His upside could still appeal to clubs looking for pitching help.
Robles also enters free agency after Seattle declined his option. The veteran outfielder brings major league experience, but his offensive production has made it harder for him to provide the same value he once offered.
