The USC Trojans ' receivers provide a good mix of young talent and experience. There are many players to be excited about in that room. However, Jayden Maiava 's best target this season could end up being freshman tight end Mark Bowman .
In a recent article , Billy Tucker takes a look at the top freshmen in college football. He ranks freshman tight end Mark Bowman as the 4th-best tight end in the Big Ten. Here is what he had to say about Mark Bowman:
"Opportunity knocks for Bowman after USC's top two tight ends from 2025, Lake McRee and Walker Lyons , have moved on. He'll need to prove his mettle as a blocker, but Bowman is a vertical threat at tight end with a great knack for separating from defenders. He has the talent to develop into the Trojans ' most impactful tight end since Fred Davis ."
A good, reliable tight end can go a long way for a quarterback and help an offense be even more dynamic. Mark Bowman may be a freshman, but he possesses traits that make him a very valuable piece in the Trojans' offense. He will make the game easier for Jayden Maiava, and if Maiava enters Heisman talk this season, it will be because a player like Bowman had a big season. Even as a freshman, Bowman is very capable of that.
