The Philadelphia Eagles have finalized their initial practice squad. Here is a breakdown of all 17 players looking to turn developmental reps into a future roster spot.
Uar Bernard:Bernard had never played a snap of football prior to being selected in the seventh round. Still, his otherworldly athleticism allowed him to make occasional plays despite his rawness. Bernard is nowhere near ready to make an impact but is one of the most intriguing young players in the NFL .

Chance Campbell:Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio offered high praise for the linebacker early in camp, offering a simple "we like Chance." However, Campbell's injury-riddled career trajectory resurfaced when a hamstring issue forced him to miss crucial practice time.
Britain Covey:Covey held the primary punt returner role for the Eagles the last four seasons. In 2022, 2023 and 2025, Covey was waived during final cuts and elevated for Week 1, then later signed to the 53-man roster. A similar sequence could occur this season.
Gabe Hall:The Baylor defensive tackle showed flashes as a run stopper but was not consistent enough of a disruptor in the Eagles' crowded position group.

Keyshawn James-Newby:The seventh-round rookie was sidelined for a majority of camp due to an ankle injury. James-Newby made his impact in his debut in the primary preseason game with a forced fumble and a sack.
Jake Majors:It was shocking that Majors cleared waivers back to the practice squad. Majors had a great camp and will be the first name the Eagles look to if any injuries occur to the interior of the offensive line.
John Ojukwu:The former Tennessee Titan showed versatility in camp playing both offensive tackle and guard.

Dameon Pierce:Pierce entered camp in competition for the RB3 spot with Will Shipley, but injuries caused him to lose footing in the race. He had a strong showing in limited snaps in the loss against the Ravens.
Maximus Pulley:The UDFA out of Wofford had a strong preseason , especially as a special teams player. If his coverage skill continues to develop, Pulley could find a spot on the roster in the future.
Mason Reiger:Reiger signed with the Miami Dolphins as an UDFA following the 2026 NFL draft, but was released with an injury designation. In his one preseason game, Reiger showed his skill set, recording a sack and a tackle for loss.

Carson Steele:Steele was the Eagles leading receiver in the preseason. He is a strong pass blocker and could be a hybrid fullback.
Joshua Weru:Of the two International Player Pathway prospects, Weru showed more flashes than Bernard, with his speed and athleticism off the edge leading to multiple quarterback hits and his first career sack.
Cole Wisniewski:Wisniewski is a truly elite athlete, boasting a 9.16 Relative Athletic Score (RAS). While he has been a missile as a downfield tackler, he still needs work in coverage.

Danny Gray:Gray earned praise by both Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean for his performance in training camp. His 4.3 speed makes him one of the fastest receivers in the league.
Kiran Amegadjie:Released by the Chicago Bears due to injury troubles and inconsistent play, the former 2024 third-round pick gets a fresh start in Philadelphia. The Eagles will look to rehabilitate his career and help him fulfill the potential that made him a top-100 draft selection.
Robert Longerbeam:In his rookie season with the Ravens, PFF graded Longerbeam 7th among cornerbacks that had at least 60 snaps. With the Eagles' depth in the secondary struggling throughout preseason, Longerbeam is a name to watch that could very easily work his way up to a key backup role.
