Memphis basketball transfer portal tracker for Penny Hardaway's 2026-27 roster

Penny Hardaway is expected to lean on the transfer portal again to put together his 2026-27 Memphis basketball roster .

But not as heavily as recent years.

The Tigers — who are coming off a 13-19 season, their worst in decades — are bringing back multiple players, creating a degree of continuity the program hasn't had since 2022. Hardaway also has a verbal commitment from one high school recruit and has a shot at securing a second in the coming weeks.

Memphis, however, still will utilize the transfer portal for the lion's share of its roster construction. The transfer portal window for immediate eligibility begins the day after the national championship and will be open April 7-21.

Who is Memphis basketball adding to its 2026-27 roster

Corneilous Williams

The 6-foot-9 big man took an official visit to Memphis on April 22. Williams averaged 10.2 points (on 58.2% shooting) and 9.2 rebounds over the past two seasons at North Alabama.

Tylik Weeks

Southern Miss' leading scorer as a junior in 2025-26, the 6-7 guard put up 19.7 points per game to go along with a 5.4 rebounding average.

Josh Holloway

A 6-1 point guard from Memphis who played in all 34 games for Texas A&M last season, averaging 4.6 points, 1.8 assists and 1.7 rebounds.

Jayden Reid

The 5-10 point guard averaged 10.1 points per game at Northwestern last season, while racking up 171 assists (48th-most in the country).

Luke Almodovar

The 6-3 two-guard averaged 14.1 points per game at Southeast Missouri State, earning first-team All-OVC honors as a junior. In addition to being the league's 10th-leading scorer, he averaged 3.7 rebounds per game.

Jerry Deng

The 6-9 wing played just eight games at NC State and took a redshirt last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds, while playing 12.8 minutes per game for the Wolfpack. Deng, a career 37.2% three-point shooter, has also played for Florida State and Hampton. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Parker Pounds

A 6-5 deep threat from Briarcrest, Pounds made 48.7% of his three-point attempts as a junior and senior, while averaging more than 11 points a game as a senior on the Saints' state championship team.

Brandin "Beebah" Cummings

A 6-3 guard transfer from Pitt with two seasons of eligibility remaining, Cummings was tied for second on his team in scoring (12.5 ppg).

Rihards Vavers

The 6-7 wing, who spent the past two seasons at Washington State, hit 41.2% of his 3-point attempts as a junior in 2025-26, which was the 29th-highest clip in the country.

Fred Smith Jr.

A 6-7 four-star forward, Smith put up 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists as a senior at Briarcrest en route to his second Mr. Basketball award.

Cello Jackson Jr.

A 6-4 four-star guard from Memphis, Jackson averaged 9.8 points, 4.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds at Columbus High (Miami) as a senior.

Who is returning to Memphis basketball for 2026-27

Julius Thedford

Thedford is a Memphis native who played at Whitehaven and Cordova and whose career began at Western Kentucky. He enjoyed a fine sophomore season, averaging 8.6 points and a team-best 5.0 rebounds. His 34.1% 3-point percentage was also third on the team.

William Whorton

Whorton played relatively sparingly in his first season with the Tigers after transferring from South Dakota State. He averaged nine minutes and put up 1.8 points and 1.5 rebounds.

Who is leaving Memphis basketball via the transfer portal

Aaron Bradshaw

The 7-foot-1 forward put up career-highs in points per game (8.6) and rebounds per game (4.2). Bradshaw shot 53.6% from the field (including 33.3% from the 3-point line) and blocked 16 shots to go along with 15 steals.

Ashton Hardaway

Appeared in 25 games (nine starts) and averaged 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds a game.

Curtis Givens III

(UPDATE) Signed with Ohio State —The team's third-leading scorer (9.4 points per game) and its top 3-point shooter (36.5%). Missed seven games due to various injuries, but he played the second-most minutes among all Tigers (25.7 per game). He made 15 starts and came off the bench in 10 games.

Arop Arop

A 6-11 forward who saw action in only nine games as a junior.

Quante Berry

(UPDATE) Signed with Lamar — The junior guard (6.1 points, 2.5 rebounds in 18 minutes a game) had a streaky season at Memphis. Also, finished with the second-most steals among all Tigers with 32. He also had 10 blocks.

Simon Majok

(UPDATE) Signed with Nevada —Following a promising start, his playing time and productivity dwindled as the season wore on, and he finished with averages of 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds a game.

Prophet Johnson

A 6-3 guard who played last season at Sacramento State, Johnson averaged 18.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.6 steals and 35.4 minutes per game. The second-team All-Big Sky selection would need a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible next season.

Christian Harmon

After spending two seasons at Gulf Coast State College, Harmon (6-6 guard) averaged 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 rebounds a game at Arkansas State as a junior.

Shane Blakeney

The 6-5 senior guard has spent his entire career at Drexel. Last season, Blakeney averaged 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game en route to second-team All-CAA honors. Signed with South Carolina

Cameron Williams

A 6-8 forward, who spent his first two seasons at the junior college level, averaged 10.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game at Portland last season.

George Kimble III

The 6-2 junior guard spent the 2025-26 season at Vanderbilt but did not play. He averaged 18 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game as a sophomore at Eastern Kentucky. Signed with Auburn

Jimmie Williams

A 6-5 shooting guard, Williams averaged 15.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a junior at Duquesne. He also put up 7.5 points and 2.6 rebounds a game as a sophomore at South Florida. Signed with Ohio State

Daniel Egbuniwe

The Memphis native and former FACS standout averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists in 23.2 minutes per game as a senior at St. Bonaventure in 2025-26. Egbuniwe is pursuing a waiver from the NCAA for a fifth season of eligibility.

Rowan Brumbaugh

The 6-4 senior guard spent the past two seasons at Tulane, where he averaged 19.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 36.1 minutes per game in 2025-26. His 632 total points is second all-time in Green Wave single-season history. Signed with SMU

Jamarion Davis-Fleming

The 6-10 big man (and former Team Thad standout) averaged 3.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and better than one block per game as a true freshman at Mississippi State in 2025-26. He shot 67.6% from the field and played 20.2 minutes per game. Signed with Alabama

Kahmare Holmes

A 6-3 junior guard, the Charlotte native took a major step forward as a sophomore at Wofford in 2025-26. Put up 19.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game en route to first-team All-SoCon honors. Also, had more than two steals per game and shot 35.2% from three. Committed to DePaul

Khaman Maker

A 7-1 junior center, Maker began his career at St. John's (where he played in just one game) before heading to DePaul. He played in 12 games as a sophomore for the Blue Demons, averaging 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds a game.

D.J. Wagner

The 6-4 senior guard has career averages of 9.5 points and 3.1 assists in 100 games over three seasons at Kentucky and Arkansas. Wagner, whose father, Dajuan, played at Memphis (and whose grandfather, Milt, was an assistant coach with the Tigers), shot 34.6% from the 3-point line last season. Signed with Maryland

Terrence Brown Jr.

A 6-3 senior guard, Brown put up 19.9 points, 3.8 assists and 2.7 rebounds a game at Utah last season. He also played two seasons at Fairleigh Dickinson. Signed with North Carolina

Colby Garland

The 6-foot senior guard from Arkansas, was third-team All-Mountain West at San Jose State last season, when he averaged 20.3 points and 4.6 assists. Garland also played one season each at Drake and Longwood. Signed with Georgia Tech

Isaiah Manning

A 6-8 junior forward, Manning appeared in 16 games at Sam Houston State, averaging 10.7 points and 3.9 rebounds a game, while shooting 34.9% from three. Spent his first two seasons at TCU, redshirting the first and averaging 2.0 points in 7.4 minutes per game in 2024-25.

Lureon Walker

Injuries limited the 6-5 senior guard to just five games at North Carolina A&T last season. But he scored 16.6 points per game, making nine of his 18 three-point attempts. In 2024-25, Walker averaged 17.5 points at Mount Olive (DII).

Juan Cranford Jr.

A 6-4 junior guard whose career began at Saint Francis, Cranford put up 12.2 points per game and shot 37% from the 3-point line (85-of-230) at Eastern Kentucky. Also, shot 39.3% from deep as a true freshman at Saint Francis.

Cameron Wallace

A 6-8 senior forward, Wallace averaged 12.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game at Little Rock in 2025-26.

Brock Mishak

In his third season at Division II West Texas A&M, Mishak (a 6-foot-3 guard) averaged 14.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Alex Atkinson

A 6-10 forward/center who will be a junior in 2026-27, he averaged 14.6 points and 8.6 rebounds at Division II Claflin University (South Carolina) this past season en route to CIAA Defensive Player of the Year honors. Committed to Towson

Kaden Johnson

A 6-10 big man who was at Huntington University (NAIA), Johnson averaged 17.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

Matt Gray

As a junior at Davis and Elkins College (Division II), the 6-7 wing averaged 17.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
