The MLB offseason may officially be underway, but Ronny Mauricio continues to mash.
Mauricio wasted no time making his presence felt with the Tigres del Lacey in his Winter League debut Tuesday night, crushing a second pitch two-run homer in the top of the sixth.
According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com , the monstrous no-doubt blast left the bat at a whopping 112 mph and traveled 441 feet into the right field bleachers.
Mauricio finished 1-for-4, but appears to be picking up right where he left off in the power department.
The young infielder, of course, homered three times over the final two games of the Mets' season finally receiving another opportunity called back up with the team.
Prior to that, he spent the majority of the year battling injury or down in Triple-A.
Though he still has plenty to refine with his offensive game, this is certainly encouraging momentum in what is a big offseason for Mauricio's Mets future.
The 25-year-old no longer has any minor league options, but the organization made it clear upon season's end that he'll be among those competing for a spot during spring training.
