Katia shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, October 14, posting a playful video of a recovery gift basket she prepared for her husband. The couple decided their family was complete after welcoming three children, making the procedure a joint family decision.
"I've carried the babies, now it was his turn to take one for the team," Katia wrote in her Instagram post .
The basket included snacks with jokes about the procedure, cooling underwear and other recovery items. The lighthearted gesture gave the five-time All-Star a reason to smile as he began his break from baseball.

The personal update arrives after a difficult campaign for Lindor and the Mets. New York finished 74-88, placing last in the National League East and missing the playoffs. The team's 2026 season statistics reflect a disappointing year for the franchise.
Lindor also endured a challenging season individually. He appeared in 105 games and finished with a .225 batting average, 21 home runs and 49 RBIs, according to his 2026 statistical record.
Those numbers fell short of his 2025 production, when he hit .267 with 31 home runs and 86 RBIs across 160 games. His reduced playing time and offensive output were significant changes from the previous season.
The vasectomy is a personal family-planning decision, separate from his baseball performance. Lindor now enters the offseason after a difficult year for both himself and the Mets.

New York faces important roster questions as it looks to return to postseason contention in 2027. Lindor remains a key figure for the franchise, and the offseason gives him time away from the field before preparations for another campaign begin.
For now, his wife's social media update offers a lighter moment following a frustrating season in Queens. The couple's decision also brought a humorous twist to Lindor's offseason, with Katia celebrating his turn to handle a family-planning procedure after the birth of their three children.
The announcement was personal rather than baseball-related, but it quickly became a talking point among Mets fans as the shortstop begins his winter break.
