With the 2026 NFL trade deadline under a week away on November 10, the Miami Dolphins have become an intriguing team to watch.
At this point in the season, the Dolphins are just 1-6. They are clearly not going to be a playoff team this year, even though the team does seem to be heading in the right direction.
Due to that cold hard fact, could Miami be a potential seller leading up to the deadline?
No one should expect to see the Dolphins make sweeping changes. However, there are a few veteran players who could make sense as potential trade chips. If Miami wants to add extra draft capital, there are options to do so.
One of those options would be to trade veteran pass rusher Josh Uche.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler has suggested Uche as a possible trade candidate for Miami. He noted that Uche is a productive player on a cheap contract, which could make him valuable to other teams looking for pass rushing help.
Fowler said that if Uche isn't in the team's long-term plans, they should trade him now.
Uche is playing in his first season with the Dolphins. He was originally drafted by the New England Patriots with the No. 60 overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played four and a half years with the Patriots before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.
In 2025, Uche played for the Philadelphia Eagles. He then signed with Miami for the 2026 campaign.
So far this season with the Dolphins, Uche has played in all seven games. He has recorded 29 total tackles to go along with two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
Granted, moving on from Uche would be a step backwards defensively for this season. But, if he could net Miami a mid-round pick or a late-round selection, that could help build for the future.
Only time will tell what Miami chooses to do before the deadline next week. Uche could very well end up sticking with the Dolphins past the 2026 season.
There are a few other players worth nothing as potential trade candidates in Miami. Both linebacker Jordyn Brooks and defensive lineman Zach Sieler could be available for the right price.
Expect to hear more rumors and speculation about the Dolphins in the coming days. For now, Fowler believes that Uche is the player Miami should consider trading.
