Shea Lacey made a strong case for more first-team opportunities after his sensational cameo to help Manchester United win 3-2 over Roma .
Lacey is one of the most exciting young talents to come through United's academy in recent years.
He has made six appearances in all competitions this term, with a goal to his name.
Although Lacey is only 19, his recent display against Roma suggests he is ready to be part of United's starting XI.
Confidence was low in United's camp before Tuesday's Champions League home match. They were coming off the back of a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea , extending their winless streak to nine games across all competitions.
The Red Devils made a poor start, allowing Matias Soule to run into acres of space and slot the ball home in the 11th minute.
Roma doubled their lead six minutes later, with Donyell Malen converting the penalty awarded for Ayden Heaven's handball.
United made an impressive comeback after the break to seal a much-needed victory at Old Trafford.
Matheus Cunha won a penalty that allowed Bruno Fernandes to score. The Brazilian then got on the scoresheet twice in the space of three minutes to secure victory for the hosts.
Cunha was undoubtedly the standout performer, but Lacey also deserves credit for his cameo that helped inspire a famous Champions League comeback.
The 19-year-old was introduced by Michael Carrick with 15 minutes remaining and United trailing 2-1.
He brought energy and directness, helping turn the tide for his team.
Lacey delivered a stunning through ball to Cunha, who unleashed a ferocious strike to win the match.
During his 15 minutes, the youngster had 14 touches and completed all his seven passes. He won four of his five ground duels, made a tackle and lost possession three times.
