Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. appeared on the latest episode of Deflected along with his teammate Egor Demin. Players have to answer awkward questions on the show if they get scored on in NBA 2K27, and Porter got an interesting one at one point.
"Which teammate would not survive working a 9-to-5 job?" Porter said. "Honestly, all of them. But I think I'mma go with Danny Wolf. 'Cause like, he'll get anxious. Like, he doesn't like to sit still and work for 8 hours at a time."
Porter doesn't think anyone could pull it off, but then pointed to Danny Wolf, whom the Nets selected with the No. 27 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, specifically. The 28-year-old then claimed he worked a 9-to-5 job growing up.
"I worked a 9-to-5 for a while at a snow cone stand," Porter said. "… My parents bought one and made all of us kids work. Actually, I'm glad I had that experience of working like a real job, like clocking in. I was making like eight bucks an hour."
Demin hilariously pointed out that isn't a real job. Porter insisted it was, as he worked six-hour shifts, but the 20-year-old wasn't buying it.
Later on in the show, the classic question popped up: "Which teammate would you not let date your sister?" Demin smiled as he looked at Porter, and you wouldn't blame him. This is a man who has used Andrew Tate clips to test women and has made quite a few other controversial statements as well.
Porter would score, which meant Demin had to pick someone. You wondered if he'd pick the man seated next to him, but he went with Ben Saraf. Porter, who has three sisters, Bri, Cierra, and Jayda, thought that was a good pick, and both of them then made it clear they wouldn't let any of their teammates date their sister.
"I'm not letting none of these dudes date my sister," Porter said.
That tends to be the common answer whenever athletes are asked this question. They know their teammates far too well.
Porter ended up winning 14-5 here, which meant Demin answered most of the questions. The very first one was: "Who was the first NBA player to bust your a** in a game?"
"The one game I could say it was probably Luka [Doncic]," Demin said. "It was like pretty bad… He's the one like you can't do much against that step-back."
Porter asked Demin if that was his "Welcome to the NBA" moment, and it was. Luka Doncic wasn't all that great in his only game against the Russian, though. Doncic had just 24 points (8-18 FG) when they faced off on Feb. 3, but still managed to make quite an impression on the youngster.
Now, Demin's rookie season would be cut short due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He finished his campaign with averages of 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game after being selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. It wasn't a great rookie season, and it will be interesting to see what the sophomore campaign is like.
As for Porter, he put up 24.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game in his first season with the Nets. He arrived via a trade from the Denver Nuggets in 2025 and surpassed expectations. Porter would be hoping to build on that in 2026-27.
