Michele Di Gregorio kept a clean sheet as Bournemouth secured a 3-0 victory against AC Milan last night, marking an encouraging performance in just his second appearance for the Cherries.
The goalkeeper, who joined Bournemouth on loan from Juventus , had previously featured in the League Cup as he continued to wait for his first opportunity to play in the Premier League. His latest appearance offered another chance to demonstrate his abilities and make a positive impression on his new club.
Di Gregorio did not hesitate when the opportunity to join Bournemouth arose, recognising that moving to the Premier League would require him to compete for his place. He understood that regular playing time would not come automatically and has continued to work towards earning his chance.
Although he is still waiting for his Premier League debut, the Italian remains focused on his situation at Bournemouth. Meanwhile, speculation has emerged linking him with a potential return to Serie A, with Bologna reportedly interested in signing him during the January transfer window.
Bologna are coached by Raffaele Palladino, who previously worked with Di Gregorio at Monza. Their professional relationship has fuelled speculation that the goalkeeper could reunite with his former manager in Italy.
However, Di Gregorio has played down suggestions that a move to Bologna is being discussed. Despite their previous connection, he insists that their relationship does not necessarily indicate that a transfer is being considered.
Asked whether Palladino had contacted him about a possible move, the goalkeeper addressed the rumours directly. As quoted by Tuttomercatoweb , he said:
"No, the fact that we were together doesn't mean anything. We have a good relationship, he'll watch the games of Monza's former players and we'll watch his because we're fond of him as a coach, but nothing more than that."

Di Gregorio's comments suggest that there have been no discussions about a January transfer to Bologna, despite the speculation surrounding his future. For now, the goalkeeper appears committed to his opportunity in English football.
His clean sheet against AC Milan is encouraging as he continues to adapt to life at Bournemouth. Although he has yet to make his Premier League debut, further appearances could help him strengthen his position within the squad.
The coming months will be important for Di Gregorio as he seeks to establish himself at his new club. Rather than being distracted by transfer rumours, he will want to make the most of every opportunity and demonstrate that he can compete for a regular place in the team.
