New England Patriots kicker Andy Borregales can enjoy his Monday and Tuesday off without any stress over his struggles.
Borregales missed a key 40-yard field goal in the second quarter on Sunday with his football team struggling.
The team-announced personnel moves on Monday afternoon don't seem to have any reverberations from that huge miss or the kicker's sub-par performance through the first eight games.
The Patriots released safety Elliott Davison from the 53-man active roster and signed running back Terrell Jennings to the practice squad.
Offensive help might be coming
The empty spot on the active roster might just be held open if either wide receiver Mack Hollins or fullback Reggie Gilliam is healthy enough to return.
The team made no moves to potentially challenge Borregales on Monday, and when coach Mike Vrabel spoke, he wasn't exactly critical.
"It doesn't seem like he has (missed important kicks). I mean, he has, and that needs to get corrected," said Vrabel, who drafted Borregales out of Miami in the sixth round a year ago. "I've got a lot of confidence in Andy. I think when you see the timing and when the approach is in rhythm, it looks really good.
"We have to make our kicks. Everybody has a job here. There's no real message. It's, 'Hey, we've got to make them.' But I've got a lot of confidence. I thought he did a really nice job on the kickoff with the ball placement. Hopefully, he's making a lot of extra points and not having to kick a lot of field goals."

Numbers trending downward
Through eight games, Borregales has made 10 of 13 field goal attempts and 20 of 21 PAT kicks.
Postgame on Sunday, Vrabel would not allow field condition or the constant tropical downpours as an excuse for Borregales or anyone else on the team.
"I think both teams played in it and I thought the field was good. They re-sodded it Monday," said Vrabel. "Rain came and went. We were okay, you know what I mean? I don't think we were great, but there were times where I don't think it affected us. Everybody played in the same conditions."
