- Milwaukee Brewers set new franchise record with 99th win against Phillies
The Milwaukee Brewers continue to pile up victories while rewriting their franchise record book. Their 4 to 1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park not only evened the series after Milwaukee dropped the opener, but also gave the Brewers another piece of franchise history.
Milwaukee's latest victory pushed the Brewers to 99 wins, giving the franchise a new single season record. They had already surpassed their previous mark of 97 victories from 2025 by beating the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday for win No. 98. Philadelphia handed Milwaukee another loss Tuesday, but the Brewers responded by getting back in the win column the following day.

"The Phillies lose, 4-1. Their magic number stays at 2. The Brewers win their franchise record 99th game and inch closer to home-field advantage throughout the postseason," MLB insider Bob Nightengale wrote on his post on X (formerly Twitter).
Milwaukee has continued to compete at a high level in recent seasons despite working with a relatively modest payroll. The Brewers faced questions about whether they could match or surpass their 97 wins from 2025 after losing players such as Freddy Peralta and Caleb Durbin during the offseason. With only days remaining in the regular season, Milwaukee has put those concerns to rest with another strong campaign.

Logan Henderson gave Milwaukee a strong start against Philadelphia, working five innings while allowing one earned run on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. The Brewers also jumped out to an early advantage, with Brice Turang launching a solo home run in the first inning before Christian Yelich followed with another in the second to put Milwaukee ahead 2-0.
