The Milwaukee Bucks tinkered around the edges of their roster on the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline, moving guard Cole Anthony and wing Amir Coffey to the Phoenix Suns in a multi-team deal that got them former Oklahoma City prospect Ousmane Dieng .
In the process, the Bucks routed center Nick Richards from Phoenix to Chicago .
The Bucks made the trade official late on Feb. 5.
Dieng will technically be acquired from Chicago, as he was part of an earlier deal between the Bulls and Charlotte Hornets . Prior to that, Dieng was dealt from the Thunder to Charlotte on Feb. 4.
Dieng last played on Feb. 3 for the Thunder, however. In his four seasons in Oklahoma City he was never able to crack the rotation for the defending champions.
Drafted No. 11 in 2022 by the New York Knicks as a teenager, the Frenchman was immediately traded to the Thunder for future draft capital. The 6-foot-10 forward played 136 career games for Oklahoma City, averaging about 12 minutes per appearance.
He did improve his 3-point shooting on low volume this season, making 36% of his attempts in 27 appearances. Dieng, who turns 23 in May, can be a restricted free agent in the offseason.
Dieng was also named the 2024 G League Finals MVP for the Oklahoma City Blue G League champions.
The Bucks also had acquired wing Nigel Hayes-Davis from Phoenix, but they immediately waived him.
Hayes-Davis, a University of Wisconsin alumnus, is 31 years old and returned to the NBA this season after spending seven seasons overseas. He made only 12.5% of his 3-point shots in limited minutes in Phoenix.

Anthony was signed by the Bucks after being bought out by Memphis , and the 25-year-old was having the worst season of his six-year career. In roughly 15 minutes per game over just 35 appearances, he averaged 6.7 points per game on 30% 3-point shooting.
Coffey made the Bucks out of training camp after signing a non-guaranteed camp deal, and he also did not play much. The 28-year-old appeared in 30 games but played less than 9 minutes per contest and shot 28% from behind the 3-point line.
The Bucks acknowledged the duo's impending departure via the daily injury report, noting that Coffey and Anthony were not available for the Feb. 6 game vs. Indiana due to an impending trade.
