The Minnesota Vikings found a way to win against the New York Giants on Sunday. Of course the test wasn't exactly tough given the state of their opponent. They also found a way to make it an absolute snooze fest with sloppy play and yet another injury for quarterback J.J. McCarthy .
Justin Jefferson has had to feel like an unused luxury car this season as well. While watching both McCarthy and Max Brosmer fail to live up to the play of Carson Wentz , his numbers have tanked. Although the output was decent on Sunday, the overarching problem is still there.
Century mark continues to elude MN Vikings wideout
Minnesota has had Justin Jefferson for all 15 of their games this season. Currently rocking a 7-8 record , his contributions have largely been anything but his fault. While there have been some uncharacteristic drops, he has just 917 yards to this point.

Jefferson finished with 85 yards for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. That now pushes the stretch of games since he has reached the 100-yard mark, in this country, to more than a year.
It has now been over a year since #Vikings WR Justin Jefferson has had 100+ yards in a game in the United States. The last time he hit it, was 12/22/2024 (against Seattle ). https://t.co/qmGkHSqnoV pic.twitter.com/xYdSF7hyx2

This season Jefferson has two 100-yard games. They came in Week 4 and 5 against the Steelers and Browns respectively. Unfortunately for the sake of this statistic, they also took place in Ireland and London.
Prior to this year Jefferson averaged 96.5 yards per game. The quarterback play of McCarthy has been so horrendous that his career average has tumbled to just 90.8 yards per game.
Special.

The 85-yard outing on Sunday would typically be pedestrian by Jefferson's standards. Unfortunately it was the high-water mark dating all the way back to that Week 5 outing against the Browns. In fact, his 85 yards are the most he has ever posted in a game that McCarthy has started, and there's the caveat that 28 of them were generated by Max Brosmer.
Minnesota has plenty of problems to fix this offseason. Figuring out how to drill their starting quarterback into the notion that Justin Jefferson needs the ball is chief among them. Wentz had no problem figuring that out, and it can't continue to go on.
