Left fielder Mickey Moniak has been a steady player during his time with the Colorado Rockies , prowling around the outfield for catches while also providing a solid bat in the lineup.
In 2026, though, Moniak's numbers slumped a bit when compared to his 2025 statistics. Like many Rockies players and fans, he's seen the ballclub go through some hard times in the past couple of seasons.

Getting Colorado back into a competitive state of mind is definitely one way that Moniak can help the Rockies entering next season.
Rockies' Moniak got new deal
According to Spotrac , Moniak "signed a 2-year, $16,250,000 contract with the Colorado Rockies, including $16,250,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $8,125,000. In 2027, Moniak will earn a base salary of $7,250,000, while carrying a total salary of $7,250,000."
So, he's not going anywhere.
What about those numbers? In 2026, Moniak put together a slash line of .238/.278/.480 with an OPS of .758. He hit 23 home runs but only recorded one stolen base. Compare those numbers to his 2025 season, when Moniak went .270/.306/.518 with 24 home runs and nine stolen bases.

Moniak has a .242 career batting average, so he hit above that level in 2026. That's a positive, for sure, as he probably will be included in a more focused nucleus of hitters surrounding catcher Hunter Goodman in the Rockies' lineup next season.
Room for improvement next season
In looking at his plate discipline according to Baseball Savant , his zone percentage was at 46.4, a zone swing percentage of 76.4, a zone contact percentage of 82.0, and a chase percentage of 44.0. His chase percentage was lower in 2025, too.
When looking at the key categories for the 2026 MLB Percentile Rankings according to Baseball Savant, Moniak did not reach a great level in any of them. Moniak placed good in baserunning run value, bat speed, and sprint speed.

There's no doubt that Moniak needs to make his presence felt on a higher level with the ballclub next season. I'd expect him to do so if he's surrounded by other players who make contact on a consistent basis.
Consistency and excellence can rub off from one player to another. Colorado has been in a rebuilding process this season with president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta and general manager Josh Byrnes. These two men are the ones who act as guiding forces, along with manager Warren Schaeffer, to improve the on-the-field product.
Look for Moniak to come out on fire next season. Colorado needs him to do so.
