It's Monday, and we are back at it! Football season is firing on all cylinders, and we have you covered. As always, check out our original coverage and what we can find on the World Wide Web below.
Boise State scored on its first three possessions, and even after punting, their defense came up with a pick-six shortly before halftime to put this game out of reach early. Utah State battled back but did a good job getting in their own way with penalties and turnovers. Maddux Madsen has a big game, completing 81% of his passes with 2 TDs and 244 yards, and Dylan Riley added 2 scores on the ground. The Bronco pass defense and tackling still leaves a lot to be desired, but it didn't hurt them much in this game.
Oregon State came, saw, and conquered in this contest. Braden Atkinson was outstanding, throwing 5 touchdowns and passing for over 400 yards. In total, the Beavers had 652 yards of offense, scoring 56 points in a game that was over by halftime. Freshman phenom wide receiver Jesse Legree continues to have his way with defenses, scoring three times on five catches with 156 yards as well. Oregon State is a tough game and starts Pac-12 play looking strong.
Pac-12 After Dark is officially back. In an outcome very few saw coming, San Diego State, despite dealing with mumps outbreaks, managed to beat Texas State. They were fueled by a huge second half, scoring 28 of their 31 points, thanks to a kickoff return and a pick-six. The Bobcats offense was their normal self, putting up 565 yards of total offense, but two interceptions proved costly, as the Aztecs won on the margins thanks to key plays when it mattered.
UNLV came out of their bye week looking much improved. They used a big second quarter to build a lead and then held on at the end when things got interesting. Jackson Arnold did Jackson Arnold things, accounting for five touchdowns on the day. He had three through the air despite only completing 50% of his passes, and then put up 110 yards on the ground with two more scores. He is basically their offense, as Jai'Den Thomas continues to look ordinary. The Rebels won despite Cal outgaining them 464 to 345 in total yards and losing the turnover battle.
